Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Data Center Consultants to advise, design, and optimize data center infrastructure solutions. The role involves assessing existing environments, recommending best-practice architectures, and supporting clients in improving performance, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
Assess current data center facilities, infrastructure, and operations
Design and recommend scalable, resilient data center architectures
Advise on power, cooling, space planning, and energy efficiency
Support data center migration, consolidation, and modernization projects
Ensure compliance with industry standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ISO)
Collaborate with IT, facilities, and business stakeholders
Evaluate vendors, technologies, and implementation strategies
Develop technical documentation, reports, and cost models
Provide risk assessments, audits, and improvement roadmaps
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of experience in data center design, operations, or consulting
Strong knowledge of power, cooling, cabling, and physical infrastructure
Experience with cloud integration, hybrid environments, and DR solutions
Familiarity with DCIM tools and monitoring systems
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Additional Technical Skills
In-depth understanding of data center power systems (UPS, generators, PDUs, ATS)
Strong knowledge of cooling technologies (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water systems, liquid cooling, hot/cold aisle containment)
Experience with high-availability and redundancy designs (N, N+1, 2N)
Expertise in structured cabling systems (fiber, copper, MPO, patching standards)
Familiarity with BMS, EMS, and EPMS platforms
Ability to perform capacity planning for power, cooling, rack density, and floor space
Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems (VESDA, FM-200, Novec 1230)
Understanding of physical security systems (access control, CCTV, biometrics)
Experience with data center automation and monitoring tools
Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and container environments
Exposure to network architectures (spine-leaf, SDN) and storage systems (SAN, NAS)
Ability to conduct thermal analysis and airflow optimization
Understanding of sustainability metrics (PUE, WUE, energy optimization strategies)
Preferred Certifications
CDCP / CDCS / CDCMP
Uptime Institute ATD
ITIL, PMP, or TOGAF (plus)
