Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Migration Architect with deep expertise in designing, planning, and executing large-scale cloud migrations to AWS

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Migration Strategy & Planning

• Lead full lifecycle migration projects from on-premises or other cloud platforms to AWS including assessment, discovery, and planning. 

• Conduct cloud readiness assessments, dependency mapping, and gap analysis to define migration approach (rehost, replatform, rearchitect). 

• Develop comprehensive migration roadmaps and execution plans that balance performance, cost optimization, security, and compliance. 

Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, highly available, resilient, and cost-effective AWS solutions in line with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles. 

• Architect infrastructure using core AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, Lambda, and advanced services as needed. 

• Incorporate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns with tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and automation frameworks. 

Execution & Implementation

• Oversee deployment and configuration of AWS environments, ensuring secure networking, connectivity, and identity/access management.

• Utilize AWS migration tools such as Migration Hub, Database Migration Service (DMS), Application Migration Service (MGN), or SMS/MGN to execute migrations. 

• Guide modernization decisions including refactoring or rearchitecting applications where appropriate. 

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Collaborate with engineering, security, networking, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure migration execution and operational readiness. 

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to cloud engineers and development teams. 

• Engage with business stakeholders, present architectural decisions, and build consensus across technical and non-technical audiences. 

Governance, Security & Compliance

• Define and implement security best practices for AWS accounts, IAM policies, encryption, logging, monitoring, and audit controls. 

• Ensure adherence to compliance standards and governance frameworks throughout the migration lifecycle. 

• Create and maintain documentation including architectural diagrams, runbooks, and operational playbooks.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 12+ years of IT experience with significant focus on cloud migration and solution architecture. 

• AWS Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS services, networking, security, compute, storage, and managed services. 

• Migration Tools: Expertise with AWS Migration Hub, DMS, Application Migration Service (MGN), and related tooling. 

• Architectural Skills: Ability to design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures. 

• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation or Terraform or CDK). 

• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large migration efforts, drive architectural decisions, and mentor technical teams. 

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders and technical teams. 

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve complex migration challenges.
